Mount Fuji, Two Days Early

A familiar view of Mount Fuji, earned with a climb—but two days early for peak cherry blossoms.

This is one of those familiar views of Mount Fuji that so many photographers have captured. I wanted to make my own photograph of it.

My only regret is the timing. I was two days early for peak cherry blossoms.

It’s also a photograph you have to earn. There’s a bit of a hike to reach the viewpoint, and if you arrive with the other tourists, there’s a queue as well.
